Rice Krispies Treats

Why do I include this recipe? I’ve lived places which provided a stove and microwave, but no oven. I had to use this to ‘bake.” It's good for the days you don’t want to turn on the oven. And, it’s easy enough for your child to do—and to do well. It’s portable, and a dessert that kids like (but it’s not chocolate).

 Rice Krispies Treats

PAN: 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan: coat with cooking spray or other grease

4 cups miniature marshmallows
3 TBL  butter
6 cups  Rice Krispies cereal

~In large pan melt butter over low heat.
~Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
~Add Rice Krispies cereal and stir until well coated. DO THIS QUICKLY
~ Put a little water on your hands before placing the mixture in the pan and use a spatula or waxed paper to evenly press the mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray.

~Cool then cut into 2-inch squares. Best if served the same day.
