Chili in a Slow Cooker

Chili in a Slow Cooker 
 (but can be made on the stove)

Ingredients
1 pound ground beef
3/4 cup diced onion
3/4 cup diced green bell pepper (optional)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 (10.75 ounce) cans tomato puree
1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes, with liquid
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans with liquid
1 (15 ounce) can kidney beans, drained
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt

These seasonings to taste:
1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
3/4 teaspoon dried basil
3/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce

Directions
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef for 5 to 10 minutes, or until browned.
Transfer to a slow cooker.
Add the onion, green bell peppers, beans and tomatoes to the slow cooker.
Add seasonings & chili powder to taste.
Cook on high setting for 4 hours, or until all vegetables are tender.
